On this Date in History...
Two years ago...we saw this precious face for the first time.

The picture was taken when Iliya might have been few days old...and when we received his information, he was just short of 15 months old. It would still be another month before we met him for the first time. This picture & a little blurb of information about him was all we had. Yet we made the decision fairly quickly that this is the child we wanted to meet.

Here is the blog archive from 2007 and a more details from my anniversary post in 2008.

Who knew that time (though it seemed to crawl at times) would pass so quickly? Now here we are, 2 years down the road...and life is joyful and more full than it's ever been. We were definitely blessed with a little boy who knows how to laugh...and who has - for lack of better terms - such an inventive sense of style!

Time does seem like it flies when you look back at the referral picture. He sure has grown a lot and is such a blessed little man. God chose the perfect parents for Iliya and gave him a wonderful home. He has grown but he still hads those great cheeks.

God bless all three of you and your familes. Before you turn around he'll be in school, and then graduating. Time does fly.

Last night I was just looking at pictures from the airport when we met Iliya the first time. I saw Grandad's smiling face and Iliya's look of "why are all these people here?" And he's so well adjusted now, it's hard to keep up with him - he's so precious - and all boy (Thankfully). And he loves his mommy and daddy.

His Russian roots are showing in that last pic. Remember the tights? ;) At least no mullet!
