It's ExPLODED!

The gym, that is! And I have to give it to all of you people who have made your New Year's Resolutions and are sticking to them, so far, for this long! Nathan & I have been waking up early and going to this gym in the mornings for......what, 3 years (or so), now (actually much longer than that, just not in the mornings......and there have even been times in that 3 years that we've slipped for a few weeks here & there). And it has NEVER been this busy in the early mornings.

For me, it's most apparent in the women's locker room. Once upon a time - it was a given that I (and the 2 other ladies that were in there in the mornings) had "MY" showerstall and "MY" spot to get ready...but there has now decended upon the women's locker room an air of vying for space in which to shower & get ready! Now, change takes its toll on me, sometimes, and with the exception of a very few times, each shower I have taken has been in the SAME showerstall. I don't know why. I guess just like in class, you find the seat that works for you, and you feel weird if you sit anywhere else. I'm a creature of habit - and I like my showerstall. If I don't shower in that one, I have 2 others that I've showered in and they're alright in a pinch.

But just this morning, ALL of my 'tried & true' showerstalls were taken! And, of course, the one I picked happened to have a dysfunctional shower head. Oh well...

LEST you think I'm complaining.......I'm not. Most of all, I'm making observations & sticking in my personal commentary where it fits.

Actually, it's really not THAT crowded, it's just when you go from 3 people to 10 or 12, it just seems a bit crazy. Now I must admit -- when our Rec Center housed Hurricane Katrina victims for several weeks, THAT was CROWDED. (not bad, just crowded) So technically, I can't say this is crowded. It's just an almost odd feeling. One of my longtime "getting ready buds" and I were joking, back RIGHT after the new year that - based on years of experience - we gave the influx of people about 2 weeks before they started dwindling down.

Crazy thing? It's been over 3 weeks, and every week brings a new person or two!

Boy were we wrong.

But like I said, I gotta hand it to everyone -- I hope this year brings LOTS of good health and fitness to everyone around -- stick to it! Just don't take my shower stall....
