Rewind: Part 1
On Veteran's Day, we had the day off, but Nathan did not march in the big annual parade as he normally does...so we took the day and spent it as a family.  We decided to go to the zoo and ended up figuring that it would be a good investment to purchase a year-long family membership.  It almost paid for itself on that one visit, alone!

If you'll recall, Iliya got to go to the zoo early this spring, and he enjoyed it...but the second time around for many things is way more fun, because he has a better grasp of what we're going to be doing and seeing (take Christmas for example).  Anyway, he had an awesome time.  He wanted to see the lions & bears first - and the bear was a disappointment because he was being lazy and we could hardly see him.  But the whole trip was fun & we are looking forward to going again!

As a sidenote, I'm not posting many pictures, because - for once - Nathan had the camera most of the time we were there, and I just can't post that many pictures that include me.  I have a serious case of "don't like pictures of myself right now" syndrome.  But enjoy these...and stay tuned for the next installment of "Rewind!"

walking to the zoo...excited!
ready for the lions!

These next few make me laugh.  As we were making our way to the elephant exhibit, we passed by this out-of-the-way height chart - I guess, comparing any given person's height to an elephant.  The chart was on a very small platform, so I'm not sure how these pictures turned out the way they did...I was snapping pictures of Iliya measuring himself and ended up capturing something that looks like Iliya on stage at a concert.  Nathan calls these his "B*ckstreet B0ys" photographs. :)

I know what you mean about pictures of myself too. It looks like he had a great time with the chart.
