Oh, look! A video!!
Before you watch it, though, I have to tell you that we've had a very low-key, wonderfully relaxing weekend. And today is a holiday, so tomorrow, we'll be back in our new routine (except for Nathan, who will be starting in the new routine).
Iliya had his first "brain freeze" last night. We went out to eat after church, and after his meal, his Papa fixed him one of the complimentary ice cream cones. I'm not sure if Iliya has ever had an actual ice cream cone...I know he's had a cup of ice cream before, but...? Anyway, he thoroughly enjoyed eating the ice cream, lick by lick. Until the end, he tried biting it. Which got much quicker results! So he kept biting larger chunks of the ice cream (and I didn't have the presence of mind to tell him to slow down) until finally, he went sort of still - as though he wasn't quite sure what was happening. It was hard not to laugh, because who hasn't ever had a "brain freeze" or "ice cream headache"? When it went away, Iliya said, "cooold...ouch...my head." Bless his heart!
Anyway, I know you really want me to get to the video clip, so here it is. Iliya is STILL obsessed with what he still calls, "Cat in the Hat!" (which, I'm sure,
kate will be happy to know :)) On Saturday morning, he'd gone in and pressed
play on his CD player...I happened to walk by his room to the following scene. I grabbed the video camera and caught the rest of it on tape. I think you will agree, the kid has got some moves. And who knows, maybe he's got a future as a dancer...or at the very least a choreographer?
p.s. Have you showed him how to do a somersault? He's so close to doing one on his own!
Hope all goes well on the first day of your new job, Nathan! I know it will be good to together during the week as a family. Isn't it amazing how the twists & turns of life take us in directions we don't anticipate?
Love you all,
granmom
Hananh watched it with me. She said the following: "Boy dance. Uh-oh. Down. Boy cry? Go, go go."
I think she is in love! :)
