A month late, here is the final answer to the questions that were asked in my Q&A post. This one comes from anonymous:
are you planning on adopting again? if yes where from? You know, I've been putting off answering this question for a little while...because I just don't know how to answer. The shortest answer is that we want a sibling (or 2 or 3 - haha, Nathan) for Iliya. Now, I doubt this sibling would be added to our family by way of biology, because I've mentioned how we seem to have nothing medically "wrong" to prevent a pregnancy...yet, we've never had one. And honestly, I don't think I have it in me to become a human pincushion again.
So having said that... here's the really long answer:
Ideally, yes, we are planning on adopting again...but I'm not sure about the location from which we will adopt. We've discussed several different ideas, but haven't settled on any one option. We're not limiting our loose considerations to international adoption, either. In the beginning of our journey to Iliya, for our own personal reasons, we were uncomfortable with domestic adoption...and we are really glad for that, because if we had adopted from the U.S., we would not have this precious child who is absolutely perfect for our family. But throughout the process, our hearts were softened toward the possibility of a domestic adoption. We decided that adoption is not for the faint of heart, regardless of the path a family chooses...and there are highs & lows to any type of adoption. So, at this point, we don't want to limit our options. And when it is time, we will make a prayerful decision as to how to add to our family.
And honestly, I would love to begin another adoption soon...because who knows how long it might take?? I always wanted my children spaced 2 - no more than 3 - years apart. Considering the fact that Iliya will be 3 in November is a huge thing for me.
So, "when?" you ask. And the most honest answer I can give you is to say we will likely wait until the considerable debt from Iliya's adoption is paid off. There is no way that we could possibly start another adoption before we made the final payment to the adoption loan we currently have...AND have saved some for the next adoption.
It kills me to have to give an answer like that,
because I want my children spaced closer together than what they likely will be. I was sitting in my office the other day, with 2 co-workers who'd given birth to their children. The discussion came up about insurance, and they both mentioned the less-than-$500 bill they had to pay to the hospital for bringing their children home. They were not being insensitive at all (and I don't really wear my feelings on my sleeve about stuff like that anyway)...but it was another stark reminder that we can have the best laid plans and life just doesn't turn out the way we think it will. Some things in life are easier for some than others...and vice versa.
I have the occasional weak moment, though, where I wonder what I've done to make the one dream I've ALWAYS had - to have a houseful of children that are fairly close in age - to remain just that. A dream.
And then I have to remember that there is a plan much bigger than we are, and somehow our lives build within that big plan. It's tough because we
can't see the bigger picture, ever, or sometimes until much later.
So there's your answer, anonymous (and everyone else who was wondering!)...sure, we'd love to adopt again...but all the specifics have not been ironed out. Till they have, we will keep trusting that "all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
God knows, my friend, He really does. I pray for peace and for you both to rest in His love and grace.
In accordance with HIS word, HIS plans for you (all of you) are "to prosper you and not to harm you; to give you hope and a future." HE knows what your future holds, and you are correct to seek His face and do as HE leads. Continue in following HIM. I look forward to seeing this great thing the Lord is working out for you. Hallelujah!
Love and blesings,

I, like many others, enjoy reading your blog. You are so open and honest that it is refreshing...plus we get to see a cute, little toddler which warms our hearts! Loved the ride on toys parking garage. I about died at how many you had! Too funny.
From experience, domestic adoption is not quite as scary as we first thought. It was a very enjoyable ride, kind of...
You'll both know when it's right to start again. And you can always adopt a 2 yr old when Iliya turns 4!
I can totally relate to your feelings. I wish that adoption was more affordable. We haven't quite figured out how we're paying for our 2nd process. I don't think most people realize how expensive it is.
Lub you.
At any rate, whoever this little future person may be, they will be so blessed to have you guys for parents and that sweet little guy for a bro! God bless you as you seek Him for what He would have for you in the future!
Just something for you to think about.
Hugs
