Before things get too hectic, I just wanted to post a quick update from the weekend.

Friday marked our 1-year post-placement visit. It's hard to believe that we are at "that time" already! After the visit concluded and the social-worker left, we got in the car and headed north for the weekend. We had a wonderful visit with my parents. Iliya had the best time playing with his Grandad and Granmom...and I'm almost certain they had a great time with him, too! ;)

On Saturday morning, my best-friend-from-forever-ago, Allison, her husband JT, and their little boy, Cohen came over for breakfast. The last time Alli & JT saw Iliya was in November, at his birthday party...and the last I saw Cohen was in February - about a week after he'd been born. Needless to say, it was past time for us to get our little guys together. Iliya had a great time showing out and playing with his granddad while we all visited...but the moment he caught sight of me holding Cohen, he attached himself to me. I was sitting on the floor holding Cohen on one knee, and Iliya came to sit on the other knee. And then proceeded to root down into the majority of my lap, leaving relatively little space for Cohen. We worked through it, but it gave me an interesting (albeit very small) taste for what it might be like with another sibling.

While Iliya napped on Saturday, Allison & I ran up to the rug outlet store in town and I lucked out when I found 2 perfect rugs - one for our living room and the other for Iliya's bedroom. I would've paid close to $200 for these rugs, if I'd bought them in a store...and ended up paying $40 for both of them!

Saturday afternoon, after Iliya woke up from his nap, Nathan & I loaded him in the car & we headed to a family reunion. It was so nice to see everyone from N's side of the family, even if for a couple hours. And the heat was offset by an absolutely glorious breeze.

Sunday, we went to church with my parents, had lunch at the Guntersville State Park, and then headed home. We were a tired little family and went to bed early last night.
