I'll be honest. We are in Alabama. The land of no-significant-snow-since-the-blizzard-of-1993. I am going to believe it when I see it. But wouldn't it be SO COOL to get snow? Last night, Nathan & I were talking...most parents are so excited about their child's first snow. But given the fact that Iliya is from a city near the end of the Trans-Siberian Railway, and his first 2 winters were full of snow and ice......I think that Nathan & I are more excited for ourselves than Iliya!

Okay, that's not entirely true.

Because even though Iliya has probably seen snow before, he wasn't old enough to have any clue what it was. Not to mention that - I can guarantee you, without a doubt, he didn't get to play IN the snow.

So I'm really hoping this winter storm warning comes through for us, and we get to have some family time in the snow -- after which, we come in and drink hot chocolate & warm ourselves by the (albeit gas-powered) fire.

Sounds pretty good to me!

And in case you are wondering. No, this is not the post about getting our PPR to CHI. I decided I'm not going to devote a post to that experience. Why? Well, I'm no longer angry at RiteAid & FedEx for having terrible (terrible, terrible) customer service. And as long as our PPR arrives in St. Louis unscathed as it should, today, I will no longer be angry with myself for

#1, having it apostilled on Monday & letting it ride around in my bag all week, with the intention of FedExing it sometime BEFORE the day-before-it-was-due, but actually having an "oh crap!" moment yesterday morning, when I realized it was still in my bag, waiting to be sent, and due today

....and...

#2, realizing - after Nathan had packaged the PPR up & sent it on its way - that I had completely forgotten to send him with the required pictures.

All's well that ends well, though (assuming that I receive an email, today, stating that the delivery has been made). To remedy the picture situation, I went to Rite Aid - at lunch, yesterday - to print out pictures (to replace the ones I had left at home)...and then next-door to FedEx to mail YET another $24 package. All of that should've taken no more than 12 minutes, but because of said lack of customer service, it took over a half-hour.

Well...guess I was still a little angry. But I feel better now. *edited - feeling even better, especially knowing that the delivery was made! WHEW! One down, 3 to go!*

And I bet a couple inches of the white stuff would make me feel EVEN BETTER.
