To all who came to our showers this weekend, we want to give you all a HUGE thank you! We have a TON of pictures to share, but they are not cooperating right now. The bottom line is that the files are pretty big and it's taking a long time to upload them. Also, some people are 'funny' about having their picture online for all to see - so I decided to not pursue fighting with my online hosting program/home internet. If you wanna see some pics, holler at me - I'll be glad to send you a couple - just be aware that they are big files, so you'll need room in your inbox!
Okay, I changed my mind. I decided to fight with a few of the pictures. Literally. Only a few, and it's taken me a while to get these. Don't forget, with all pictures in this post, you can click on it to enlarge...AND, roll your mouse over each
thumbnail for a description. So here they are:

And then a couple pics of Little I's room:

Now, I am going to brag on my husband for just a sec.
You know, through the years, I've heard many women say that their husbands are just no help. I can honestly tell you that that is NOT the case with Nathan. He helps do things ranging from sweeping, to cleaning the kitchen, to vacuuming the floors. I really am so fortunate (yes, Nancy W., if you read this, I am
spoiled, okay? I admit it! :)
But there is one thing he loves to do. And by "love" I really do mean it.
A little history. Years ago, when we were still dating, Nathan turned some of his clothes pink by washing a red sweatshirt in with probably-every-other-article-of-clothing-he-owned. It was just his way. Throw in a bunch of stuff together & get it clean! Everyone has a "red shirt" story. But when that happened, I so wisely pointed out to him why that was not such a great idea (as if he couldn't figure it out for himself) and proceeded to show him the "my mom" way of doing laundry (the "my mom" way is shall we say
.....particular)
.If you know Nathan at all, you know he can be a bit on the compulsive side (I might even go as far as saying he can be even a bit obsessive about things at times, but I hate the term 'OCD' unless one really, truly has it - so for my weird sake, we'll just say he is a bit compulsive).
As usual, I digress.
Where was I? Oh yes. Laundry.
Anyway, Nathan just took the "my mom" way of doing laundry and totally ran with it. In the 9 years since I showed him this particular way, he has developed a system of doing laundry (as well as choosing outfits to wear, but that's a whole 'nother post in itself) and is truly more than particular about it. In fact, should I ever
decide dare step foot in the laundry room, Nathan runs the risk of developing a tic. So suffice it to say that I stay out of that room.
Suits me fine.
But why was I telling you that story?
Oh yes.
Little I's laundry. This may have been a bad decision on our part, but we decided to go ahead and de-tag and wash his clothing. (please don't fill my comments with why this might have jinxed us, etc. - we've already thought of that, but we just decided to go with taking the tags off and washing everything, having faith that everything will all work out just right)
I had to work late tonight, and when I got home, Nathan informed me that he had started on Little I's laundry. He is just so excited about it, and he even made the comment that now that he's started, he is SO ready to have Little I home so he (Nathan) can do his (I's) laundry
for real. While getting furniture and toys has made the realness of Little I sink in for me...washing little boy clothes has done it for Nathan. So tags or no tags (bad choice or no) I think that the whole baby laundry thing has been a good thing for Nathan.

I wonder how his perception of laundry will change once Little I actually comes home. Some part of me really thinks that the obsessive laundry monster will grow and he will come to love it even more.
And trust me, the excitement of washing little person clothing will wear off when you never hear you washing machine stop. Although, I do pull a pair of pants out of the dryer on occasion and smile.
This post made me think of our discussion on laundry Saturday... funny how we all have our perculiarities...
Saturday was great! We all had such a great time...
LOVE the bed and sweet pea's room! All the pictures looks great! Can hardly wait to see him in it!!
Love you, Kristy
The laundry thing does wear off after a while though, especially when you see how your water and heating bill increase as a result of all those dirty little clothes. Mounds of laundry and endless dishes.... the symbols of life with kids! :)
Daddy's smile is priceless!
Praying for you guys while you face these busy weeks!
I think it's downright sweet that your husband was so excited about doing Little I's laundry. The little tiny clothes are so fun!
I wish my sweetie had the same "compulsions" has his cousin! Kevin has his own "compulsion"...wear as many sets of clothes in one day as possible! (((0:
Love to you all!
