Just Too Crazy Not to Share
Okay, I guess I'm feeling better & can come out of blogger hidding. I just needed a few days where I didn't feel like I *HAD* to post. Thanks for understanding! :)

Now, on to the craziness...

Let me share something about my cat, Mia. This cat will play with and eat almost ANYTHING. She especially loves boxes, newspapers, and plastic bags...and has been known to get Gracie & Heathcliff in trouble by knocking stuff in the floor for them to find. One of the oddest things she loves is curly ribbon - and it's not so odd that she likes to play with it. But THIS cat likes to EAT the ribbon. In short, we have to watch her carefully...she is the proverbial cat whose curiosity will eventually kill her.

Here are a few pictures of some of her silliness:

So...BACK to this morning...

As I was getting ready, I noticed Mia scratching at something on the nightstand - I thought she was preparing herself to get a drink (she does this weird, scratchy thing to the cup before she drinks out of it - yes, I said cup - we have a disposable one she drinks out of. She refuses to drink out of anything else. don't ask.). Then, a minute later, I saw her & Jay (the other cat) huddled over something on the bed, and she was eating at whatever it was. I went over to see about it and she had an ADVIL halfway down her throat!! She was having trouble with it b/c the coating was getting sticky so thankfully, that's what kept her from eating it. I had 2 Advil sitting on the nightstand from a couple nights ago, when I needed them for my sore knees but never took them. What possessed Mia to try eating them this morning? I'll never know, but I'm glad it was then, and not while we were gone! I threw both Advil away, and a few minutes later, saw Mia sniffing around the area, looking for more deadly goodies.

I know, I know, with the 'imminent' arrival of Little I, I've gotta be more careful about leaving stuff laying around like that... and may I should use this opportunity to learn a lesson! See? Cats aren't all that bad!! :)

I once found our cat sleeping... in the closet. Not just in the closet, but in the basket of the paper shredder... I guess he was comfy cozy cause he stayed there for a long while, and I found him there more than once.... can't believe I didn't take a picture of that!

Our cat is also one of those cats. She always causes the dog to get in trouble by getting at something.

A really funny moment (which has happened more than once so obviously we aren't learning) is if we leave food on the counter, she'll eat some and knock some down on the floor for the dog. If we walk in on the two of them, the dog will start barking at her so she gets in trouble. Why wasn't he barking earlier?? Hmmm...

And our cat also does the weird scratchy thing and cries right before she drinks.

Isn't it wild how cats will ignore every toy you buy for them, but they'll somehow find the one little item you don't want them to have? Once when I was in college my cat (who loved anything that crinkled) came out of the bathroom carrying a tampon he had somehow plucked from the box after opening the cupboard door. It would have been funny, but I had a big study group (including guys) over and it was pretty embarrassing!

What a cute cat. I love all her little hiding places.
Mine would drink from my cup all the time if I'd let her. Especially if I have milk.
