My final story...
Iliya is at the age where he
loves to help out. He takes great pride (as you have seen, firsthand) in doing "chores," such as feeding the dog. When we have given him things to put in his room (depsite the naysaying), he does what we ask...fairly willingly. Imagine my surprise the other day, when I gave him his wet (bedtime) diaper to throw away. I said, "Iliya, I need you to go put this in the big trash can in the kitchen." He took the diaper from me, considered it for a moment, and then handed it back to me, saying, "Ehh, I let mama do it."
That
boy!
My younger one will hold her unders out with her arm stretched as far as it'll go, gently pinching the waistband, all the way down the hall to throw them down the clothes chute every morning. That is, of course, after trying to get me to take them first. "Mama doesn't do that -- it's your job honey!" :)
