We may or may not ever be able to make an announcement that "we're pregnant"...but we have come to understand that the blessing is the fact that however parenthood happens, it is a miracle! ....... Now we have been home with our precious blessing from Russia since August 2007. Join us on our fun and crazy ride that we call "life with this child of mine."

Hip, Hip, Hippopotamus
This video was taken in the hospital room yesterday. I happened to have my little digital camera with me as we were trying to pass the time. Iliya LOVES this song, and I was so happy to catch it on video. It's difficult to hear, so I'll post the lyrics - and then you can watch the video (but turn your volume up so you can hear bits & pieces). It's pretty sweet.

In the beginning, God made the sea,
And the forest filled with trees,
And the mountain peaks so high.
And at the top, he placed the sky.

Fingerprints are everywhere,
Just to show how much He cares.
And in the middle, He had some fun,
When He made the hippo & it weighed a ton!

Hip, Hip, Hip, Hippopotamus!
Hip, Hip, Hooray, God made all of us!
Hip, Hip, Hip, Hippopotamus!
Hip, Hip, Hooray, God made all of us!

So sweet! Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear everything went well with your little one's surgery. It must have been so hard to wait while he had surgery. Sounds like the experience went pretty well, though.

Very sweet! I hoping for a quick and comfortable recovery.

Hi there,

Just read the surgery play-by-play too and wanted to thank you for all the details as we plan for Owen's surgery. Sounds like he is doing well despite his booboo. I loved that he woke up to tell the nurse ByeBye :) LOVED the video. He is so precious, Melissa.

Hope he feels back to normal very very soon.

I'm so glad he is doing so well, and hope he continues to do well!

I was away from my computer this weekend on a Ladies Retreat, and almost called you a couple times to check on Little Man!

Praying for you!

Love,
Andrea

SO ADORABLE! It's so fun to see Iliya grow and change. He seems to be doing extremely well! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video!

Take Care and God Bless.

Hi,
It's been a long time since I read your blog... I am so thrilled to hear your "little Man" is doing so well.
That song is just precious! I am so glad I know his Mom and Dad to know he is as normal as they get... Nathan I mean. smile
You two make great parents and I am so glad He has you two, and you have him. Enjoy they are only babies such a short time. He is adorable in that gown designed by the nudest colony. grin
later, Leah's Mom

That was so cute. I don't know if Dan knows motions to any song! Now I'm curious. Iilya in his gown is about one of the cutest things I ever saw. I'm so glad everything went well. I still am not convinced that I want to face all of that. Dima without food is plum scary! I would make sure my knee caps were covered or else he'd be chewing on them! God bless Iilya as he recovers!

Awww. Did your DH know you were filming? Frank would shoot me.... Well, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it will all change once we have a kiddo at home. Guess we'll wait and see on that one.

I hope your little one has a quick recovery.
