Sunday Best & A Study in Eating a Pear
As promised, here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Sunday Best Sunday Best Sunday Best Sunday Best

Here, Iliya is sporting his blue Seersucker shorts paired with his yellow, blue & white sweater. If you click on the word "seersucker" in the previous sentence, you can find out (probably more than you want to know) about the fabric. It is a staple in many a Southern closet...and is now a staple in my son's closet. You may not think he looks adorable in his outfit...oh, but I do! I am now having an internal debate with myself on whether it will be okay for him to wear his seersucker past Labor Day. I was recently told that the standard "fashion rules" (you know, don't wear white shoes past Labor Day, etc.) don't apply to young children (which I'm happy to know)...and I'm assuming this goes for seersucker fabric, too. In the wikipedia article, it mentions that people in warmer climates (that would be us!!) often ignore the Labor Day "rule," anyway, when it comes to this fabric.

Like any proper southern belle (haha), I am particular about these rules. But if it's considered okay for a child to get by with wearing his precious clothes - white shoes & all - after Labor Day, then I'm okay bending the rules a little bit.

Now...for the study in eating a pear. Y'all probably get tickled with my so-called "studies." But what else is it, if not a study? Because Iliya sure did tear into the pear and had it down to a science. He was not happy when he came to the end of it & Nathan had to take it away from him (you'll see this picture in a second).

I love seersucker and wore several seersucker dresses when I was young. Iliya looks adorable in his outfit. I'd bet my next paycheck that you would love Strasburg children's clothing. I went to their outlet store a few weeks ago and was in heaven. Here's the link just to tempt you. http://www.strasburgchildren.com/

I LOVE LOVE LOVE seersucker too! I've been wondering about white dress shoes for Owen after Labor Day... I'm looking at some saddle oxfords too... are those "in the rules?" They are so cute with his little rompers!

Wesley wore the seersucker rompers for as long as I could get away with it! He had one of every color, with every applique or smocking possible! Kevin put a stop to the knee socks around 2 yrs. old! (0: I had the same debate about white shoes, more so after Alex was born. I had 3 different ladies (1 @ Strasburg, 1 @ a local children's shop, and 1 @ Stride Rite), tell me that the "rules" for after Labor Day did NOT apply to children, until they were 4 yrs. old! Ofcourse now people are saying that the "Rules" don't apply to anyone at all...but I still have a hard time donning white shoes or linen after Labor Day! He's so cute and has so much personality...he'll outshine any outfit!!!(0:

The pear pictures are adorable! I could tell he was really concentrating on getting every last bite!

We can't wait to see you all this weekend, and see little man in action!!!

Love,
Andrea

How cute!!! (both sets of pics!) Has Iliya tried watermelon? I know Nathan doesn't like it, so I didn't know if y'all had tried it yet.

I don't know if I can begin to tell you how much we are looking forward to this weekend. We went looking for a pool yesterday, with no luck of finding one his size. We've asked La-la (Aunt Sarah) to check at Toys R Us to see if they still have any. The forecast looks like it will most definitely still be water weather. Grandparenting sure is grand!
love you all much,
mom & dad
p.s. are you & Nathan coming too? :o) ha!
