Prayer Request!
Alright folks! It's prayer request time! :oD

In order to send off our form to the Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS), we've GOT to have a copy of Nathan's & my birth certificate. Mine is no problem - I just go to any Health Dept.'s Office of Vital Records in the State and for a small fee, they can print it out just while I wait. Nathan's are a little more difficult to come by because he was born in Washington, D.C. and he had to order his in the mail. I guess he ordered it about 2 weeks ago, so we're really in the "wait" mode right now.

So...please pray that the Washington, D.C. Office of Vital Stats will hurry and get his birth certificate to him, so we can get our INS form in the mail. That is one step that takes a while, so time is really a-wastin' right now!!

I *think* a photocopy will do fine, and if that's the case, then Nathan's mom has his original, which we can make copies of. However, if the certificate she has looks anything like what Nathan had (to get his passport), there's no way it will copy -- the paper was so discolored, it would've copied "black" - if that makes sense!

SO...on other fronts, I mailed off our homestudy app yesterday, along with half of the homestudy fee. I hope that we'll hear from the social worker sometime tomorrow or Monday, so we can officially start the homestudy process. Although after filling out that application Monday night, I feel like they already know everything there is to know about us -- it took me 3 hrs. to fill it out!! Crazy!! Oh well - I hope & pray that the mail system is working well right now!! ;)

I guess that's it for now...not much to tell, but I'll update again later!

Till then -

~Melissa :o)
